Pat Cummins donates $50,000 to PM Cares Fund for purchase of oxygen

New Delhi: Pat Cummins , the Australian fast bowler, said he was donating $50,000 to PM Cares Fund specifically for the purchase of oxygen for Indian hospitals.

Cummins who plays for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) announced this  on Monday . He said as India is currently in the throes of a surge of COVID-19 and it should get help and assistance.

The Australian pace bowler also urged colleagues in the IPL to make contributions like him to help India fight the second coronavirus wave.

Cummins said India is a country  which is dear to him as the people the country are warmest and kindest he has ever met. Their suffering has pained him a lot , he added.

Meanwhile, three Australian players have pulled out of IPL 2021 amid spike in coronavirus in India. They are Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Kane Richardson and Adam Zampa as well as Rajasthan Royals’ Andrew Tye.
