Producer Bhushan Kumar confirmed the news and said, “We want to wrap up Saina by this year-end for an early 2020 release, so going ahead with the project is a decision taken by mutual consent. We are glad Parineeti has come on board for the film. Saina has made every Indian proud and we can’t wait to take her story to the world in the year of the Olympics.”
Shraddha had begun filming on the Amole Gupte directorial in September last year. However, its shooting was halted soon after she was diagnosed with dengue. She was supposed to resume work on the film this April, but now the Bhushan Kumar Production has decided to go ahead with Parineeti Chopra.
The decision was apparently taken keeping in mind Shraddha’s tight schedule.
Shraddha has her plate full with films like the campus drama Chhichore, Baaghi 3 with Tiger Shroff, Street Dancer 3D and Saaho.
Meanwhile, Parineeti is gearing up for the release of Akshay Kumar starrer Kesari, based on the Battle of Saragarhi fought between the British Indian Army’s Sikh Regiment and Afghan tribesmen in September 1897.
