Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government today constituted a five-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe into the sensational Pari murder case of Nayagarh district. Yesterday, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has assured the same in the Odisha Assembly
Reportedly, Senior IPS officer & IG of Police, Arun Bothra, will be heading the SIT to inquire into the murder of a 5-year old girl in Nayagarh.
State Home Department Special Secretary Santosh Bala, in a letter to the Registrar General of Orissa High Court, informed that the Govt has proposed to constitute the SIT, which is to be monitored by the High Court, to investigate the alleged incident of the murder of five-year-old ‘Pari’ of Jadupur village under Sadar police limits of Nayagarh district.
The Government has selected a panel of five Senior Police Officers for this purpose. The name of the officers are given below:
- Arun Bothra, IPS, IG of Police, Head of the Team
- RK Dora, SP, CID, CB
- RC Thamba, ASP, CID, CB
- Narendra Kuma Behera, Inspector of Police, CID, CB
- Mamata Rani Panda, Inspector of Police, CID, CB
The State Government has also requested the Chief Justice of Orissa High Court to accord permission to monitor the investigation of the SIT by a Sitting Judge of Orissa High Court.
