Papu Pom Pom Apologises For ‘Mocking’ Singing Sensation Ranu Mandal

Bhubaneswar: Courting controversies and later apologising for the same has turned out to be a regular affair for Ollywood actor-comedian Papu Pom Pom aka Tatwa Prakash Satapathy.

This time Papu has drawn flak from scores of netizens after a video of him imitating singing sensation Ranu Mandal went viral on social media. However, the actor today tendered an apology for the act.

In a video, Papu claimed that the TikTok video was not meant to criticise the singer, rather it was a tribute to her. He further said that if people start judging and ciriticising every act, all the things would look erroneous. People even point out mistakes of the God, I am just a human being,” Papu said.

Papu also went on to apologise for the imitated video and urged the people and fans not to propel the issue. He said, “I apologise, if the video has hurt anyone’s sentiment.”

Commenting on the controversy, Bhubaneswar-based social activist Linkan Subuddhi said the actor seems to have developed mental illness and needs proper therapy.

It may be mentioned here that Papu came under fire with many fans of Ranu Mandal in Odisha strongly criticising his act of reprising the scene of Himesh Reshammiya standing by the side of the singer during the recording of a song.

In a related development into the issue, Nischintakoili Nagarik Manch has lodged an FIR against Papu Pom Pom at Nischintakoili police station alleging that the actor-comedian has insulted singer Ranu by mimicking her actions in the viral video.

A few days ago, Papu had apologised to ace sprinter Dutee Chand for talking against her in a telephonic conversation over the misogynistic poster of his upcoming ‘Mr Kanheiya”.
