Mayurbhanj: A special squad have rescued a pangolin and arrested one person for allegedly trying to sell the wild animal at Gahirapal area under Bangiriposhi police limits in Mayurbhanj district.
The accused has been identified as Singu Baske.
Acting on a tip-off, the team conducted a raid at Gahirapal area and arrested a person while a deal was being made to sell the endangered species. The cops also rescued the captive pangolin from his possession.
A case has been registered and further investigation is underway to nab the wildlife criminal involved in the wildlife smuggling, police sources said.
