Bhubaneswar: Observing the birth anniversary of legendary Odia politician Biju Patnaik, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik not only paid tributes to his father but also urged the populace of Odisha to build a better future.
Taking to his Twitter handle, the Odisha CM made two consecutive posts.
In one tweet he wrote: “My humble tribute to the jubilee of Biju Babu, former Chief Minister, a symbol of Odia self-respect. He dedicated his life to making Odisha a leading state and serving the people. We are committed to building a new Odisha by respecting his Odia self-esteem and values.”

In another post, he said: “In a democracy, people are the real owners. Bijubabu was a pioneer in strengthening the panchayat system by decentralizing power for the betterment of the people. In memory of his contribution, let us be determined on the occasion of Panchayati Raj and Lok Seva Diwas to be determined to build a new Odisha.”

Bringing governance closer to the people at the grassroots level, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in 2020 declared that Odisha would celebrate March 5 as Panchayati Raj and Lokseva Divas.
