Srinagar: Pakistan has violated ceasefire in Mankote sector in Poonch district in Jammu & Kashmir despite Army Chief Gen Bipin Rawat’s warning.

Gen Rawat has cautioned that the situation along the Line of Control (LoC) could escalate anytime.

The firing from the Pakistani side began at 7.15 am using small arms and mortars. The Indian Army is replying befittingly to the situation.

The Union Minister of State for Home G Kishan Reddy told the Parliament in November that “950 incidents of ceasefire violation along the LoC from across the border in Jammu and Kashmir were reported during August 2019 to October 2019”.
