Islamabad: A Pakistan court has asked the government to send Indian national Hamid Nihal Ansari home within a month.
It has asked the government to complete formalities for deportation of the Indian prisoner Hamid Nihal Ansari. He has been languishing in Pakistani jail for three years. Hamid’s jail term will end on December 15.
Hamdi is a 33-year-old Mumbai resident. He is currently lodged in the Peshawar Central Jail after being sentenced by a military court to three years’ imprisonment for possessing a fake Pakistani identity card on December 15, 2015.
A two-judge Peshawar High Court bench, comprising Justice Roohul Amin and Justice Qalandar Ali Khan heard an appeal filed by Hamid through a senior lawyer.
