Pak court adjourns Hafiz Saeed trial citing lawyers’ strike

Lahore: The anti-terrorism court in Pakistan has adjourned hearing in the terror funding case against Mumbai terror attack mastermind Hafiz Muhammad Saeed.

Pakistan has cited ‘lawyers strike’ as the reason for postponement. The hearing has now slated for January 2.

News agencies quoting court official said: “Hafiz Saeed and his three close aides were produced before the anti-terrorism court in Lahore in terror financing case in high security here on Tuesday. However, prosecution did not produce any witnesses against them”.

The prosecution told the court that as the lawyers strike is continuing, the hearing is adjourned till January.
