Bargarh: Noted Koshali poet and Padma Shri Haldhar Nag from Odisha has found place on the first page of legendary poet, lyricist and filmmaker Gulzar’s ‘A Poem A Day’.
The book features 365 contemporary Indian poems in 34 languages of 279 poets across the country. The first two poems in the book are of Nag titled ‘Pancha Amruta’ and ‘Chitthi Deuchhen re Haldhar’.
On the first page, Gulzar writes ‘Dear Haldhar, you are like sunrise of my book’. Along with the book, the Gulzar has sent a letter to the Kosli poet expressing that he is excited to meet him in person.
Earlier in 2019, a short film on the noted poet from Odisha’s tribal hinterland was released on YouTube.
Nag expressed his gratitude to Gulzar after receiving the book.
Meanwhile, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik thanked Gulzar Saab and also expressed his happiness for including Odisha’s legendary poet Haldhar Nag’s poems in his collection ‘A Poem A Day’.
