‘Oxygen on Wheels’ project to counter Corona crisis in Maharashtra

New Delhi: Carmaker Mahindra and Mahindra has taken a noble initiative to help reach oxygen cylinders to different parts of the country to help people during Covid crisis.

Anand Mahindra, Chairman of the Mahindra Group, has announced that the company has lined up nearly 70 Bolero pickup trucks to deliver oxygen cylinders to the coronavirus patients. He announced this through social media.

In a tweet he said as oxygen is the key to reducing mortality. He said the problem lies with the transportation rather than production of oxygen.

Therefore, it is an initiative to make available oxygen, Anand added. “Oxygen on Wheels” uses trucks in local shuttle routes to connect oxygen producers with hospitals/homes. An operations control Centre has been established.

The rollout plan currently includes Mumbai, Thane, Nashik and Nagpur.
