Mayurbhanj: Amid concern over the Omicron variant of COVID-19, as many as 40 students of Kasturba Gandhi Girl’s High School at Kaptipada in Mayurbhanj district have tested positive for the virus on Sunday.
According to reports, a medical team from Kaptipada visited the educational institution and collected samples of students, teachers, and other staff where more than 40 students tested positive for the virus.
While the infectees have been put under isolation, sanitisation work has been carried out on the school premises to prevent the further spread of the virus.
Earlier, two students of Capital High School and more than 10 teachers of Kendriya Vidyalaya-1 tested positive for Covid-19 in Bhubaneswar.
