OPSC Publishes Medical Officer Recruitment Result In Record 15 days; Recommends Appointment Of 786 Doctors

Cuttack: In a record 15 days, the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) published the result of medical officer posts and recommended the appointment of 786 doctors in government service.

As per reports, the Health & Family Welfare Department had asked the OPSC for speedy recruitment process of the newly-inducted doctors so that they can boost the efforts of the State government.

Taking the task as a challenge, the Commission invited applications for a month and decide to conduct a Computer Based Examination to reduce the duration of the process.

On 28the April 2021, the examination was held across 15 centers and 1491 candidates appeared in the examination. Rules governing the recruitment of Medical Officers stipulated written mark (weighted 70%) added to career assessment (weighted 30%) shall the overall merit list of candidates.

After assessing both the component through the developed software CSMS module, the result was published on 12 May, thus completing the recruitment in 15 days’ time, a record for the OPSC.

By recommending doctors for appointment by the Health & Family Welfare Department when they are needed most, the Commission fulfilled its commitment by completing the process expeditiously.

OPSC thus sets a new benchmark, of speed and accuracy in conducting future recruitment tests. A total of 786 doctors have been recommended by the OPSC for appointment in Government service.
