Bhubaneswar: Senior Odisha Congress lawmaker Suresh Routray on Saturday made a tendentious statement over the appointment of the OPCC president.
After MLA Tara Prasad Bahini Pati’s comment over the change of guard in Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC), speculations are rife and obviously swing of the pin points toward incumbent president Niranjan Patnaik.
Speaking to the media persons on Saturday, Routray said that every decision happens as per Cheif Minister Naveen Patnaik’s wish.
“Be it appointment of PCC president or Congress’ state in-charge, every decision happens as per Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s wish,” said Routray.
He further said that the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) will get its new president by May 7.
Meanwhile, OPCC president Niranjan Patnaik has already offered to desert the post years ago and responding to the press personnel recently, he said that he has sent his resignation letter to the All India Congress Committee (AICC) President earlier.
