Dhenkanal: At least one person was killed while two others were injured in a clash where two groups of people near Sarangdhar Stadium in Kamakhyanagar area of Dhenkanal hurled bombs at each other.
According to sources, at around 10 pm when some of them hurled bombs at a car. During the faceoff, at least six rounds of bullets were fired. A total of 3 persons received injuries during the attack with all of them initially shifted to Kamakhyanagar Hospital and later shifted to Cuttack SCB Medical College. One of them identified as Tophan Patra succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Reportedly, the violence sparked following a personal dispute.
Police have deployed two platoons of force in the region. The police administration has also sealed both ends of the town area.
