Kalahandi: One person was killed while another sustained critical injuries after two motorcycles collided with each other in Kalahandi district on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Soumitri Munda, a retired teacher in Laxmisagarpada.
As per reports, the mishap occurred while Soumitri was returning from a petrol pump on his bike. On the opposite side, two other persons Badal Naik and his friend were riding a bike. In front of the Srimandir cloth shop, the two bikes collided with each other.
As a result, the three sustained injuries and were taken to Junagadh Hospital for treatment. There, Soumitri was declared dead. As Badal’s condition is critical, he was first shifted to Bhawanipatna Hospital and then to Raipur.
Police on intimation, reached the spot and launched an investigation. A case has been registered in the police station. The dead body has been handed over to the family members after post-mortem.
