One CRPF jawan killed, 2 injured in road mishap in Phulbani


Phulbani: One CRPF jawan was killed and two others injured in a road mishap near Kurunguli ghat in Sarangarh near K Nuagaon police station limits. The injured jawans were shifted to Bhubaneswar.

Reports said three jawans from Baliguda CRPF Camp, belonging to 127 Battalion in Kandhamal district, were returning from Bhubaneswar on an SUV when they met with an accident on the ghat road. The driver of the vehicle lost control over the wheel and dashed onto a tree on the roadside.

Police sources said the vehicle was completely damaged. The Driver, Havildar Lakhande Rajendra (40), died on the spot while ASI Marlappa Marketi and Constable R Sarbanan sustained injuries.

K Nuagaon IIC Srinibas Samal has said that the body of jawan will be sent to his native place after post-mortem. Rajendra belongs to Ahmednagar in Maharashtra.
