One Anaconda dies at Nandankanan zoo


Bhubaneswar: One among the eight anacondas that were received from Madras Crocodile Bank Trust dies at Nandankanan zoo in Bhubaneswar today. The death of the reptile has been confirmed by the zoo authorities.

The actual reason behind the death of the anaconda will be known after the post-mortem report is received, authorities said.

Notably, on October 22 eight yellow Anaconda snakes (4 male, 4 female)  were brought to Nandankanan zoo as part of an animal exchange programme.

All the eight Anaconda snakes, which are approximately 4.5ft long, reached Nandankanan in specially packed boxes under the supervision of an experts’ team.
