New Delhi: Sultan of Oman, Haitham bin Tarik, has assured Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the safety and wellbeing of the Indian community in Oman.
PM Modi and His Majesty, Haitham bin Tarik, had a telephonic conversation on Tuesday on the matter. The two leaders discussed the health and economic challenges posed by the deadly COVID-19 pandemic. They also discussed the measures being taken by their respective countries to contain the pandemic.
Both the leaders agreed that their countries would extend all possible support to each other in dealing with the crisis.
The Sultan assured PM Modi about the safety of Indians living in Oman and also extended his heartfelt thanks to him for the recent support provided by the Indian government to Omani citizens.
During the telephonic conversation, Prime Minister reiterated his condolences for the demise of HM Late Sultan Qaboos. PM Modi said India considers Oman as an important part of its extended neighbourhood.
