Odisha to scale up COVID Vaccination as drive resume today

Bhubaneswar: The vaccination drive against Coronavirus resumed from today in Odisha after a one-day pause on Sunday.

Odisha is currently aiming to vaccinate 31,902 persons in 380 sessions today, As many as 2864 persons will be vaccinated in 39 sessions in Bhubaneswar today, informed the State Health Department.

The arrangement has been made to conduct the vaccination programme in private and state-run medical colleges of the State. The beneficiaries will be vaccinated at two sessions in district headquarters hospitals and sub-divisional hospitals. As many as 200 people will be given the shot of COVID-19 vaccine in all these sites.

The state has already vaccinated 13,980 healthcare workers on the day of the nationwide launch of the vaccination program on Saturday.

According to sources, while on the inaugural day of the vaccination roll-out, the state targeted to vaccinate about hundred healthcare workers each in 161 session sites across all the 30 districts, the number of sessions, as well as the session sites, may be expeditiously attuned to the beneficiary load of each participating health care institution.

According to State Health & Family Welfare Department, Six districts of the State registered 100% vaccination on the first day.
