Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government is set to roll out the National Education Policy (NEP) in schools across the state by 2025, as announced by School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond.
This significant educational reform aims to align the state’s education system with national standards, focusing on holistic and skill-based learning.
In preparation for this transition, the government has formed a dedicated task force, supported by six thematic sub-committees. These committees will develop recommendations and incorporate inputs from various stakeholders to ensure a collaborative approach to the policy’s implementation.
Addressing the issue of teacher shortages, Minister Gond emphasized that measures are being taken to fill existing vacancies. “We are committed to ensuring that all necessary resources are in place for the successful implementation of the NEP,” he stated.
The NEP seeks to revolutionize education across India by introducing more comprehensive and skill-focused learning at all levels. Odisha’s adoption of this policy marks a significant step towards enhancing the quality of education in the state.
