Bhubaneswar: The State government has asked all the teachers, who have been recently promoted as headmasters, to join duty by October 8 or face possible disciplinary action, said Directorate Of Secondary Education, Odisha.

In a letter to all the District Education Officers of the State, (Except DEO, Malkangiri) on Monday, Joint Director(GS) Basanta Manjari Acharya informed the state government had promoted 1097 junior Secondary School Service (SES) teachers as senior SES headmasters on August 3 this year and asked them to join the duty within a week. However, a majority of the promoted teachers are yet to join duty for the last two months,

The Joint Director, therefore, requested the DEOs to ensure that the teachers of their district, who are under orders of promotion to Sr. SES cadre but are continuing on leave, will either join in their allotted place of posting or forgo their promotion by 08.10.2021.

If anybody continues on leave after 08.10.2021, disciplinary action as deemed proper will be taken against him/her. This may be treated as most urgent, the letter mentioned.
