Bhubaneswar: Odisha on Thursday reported 315 new COVID-19 cases taking the tally to 3,29,621, while two fresh fatalities pushed the state’s coronavirus death toll to 1,873, a health department official said.
The new cases were detected in 28 of the state’s 30 districts, with 181 reported from different quarantine centres, while the remaining 134 are local contact cases.
Cuttack district recorded the highest of 41 new cases followed by Bolangir (40) and Nuapada (26).
Taking to Twitter, the Health and Family Welfare department said: “Regret to inform the demise of two numbers of Covid positive patients while under treatment in hospitals.”
1.A 57-year-old female of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Chronic Kidney Disease, Hypertension & Hypothyroidism.
2.A 76-year-old male of Puri district.
Currently, the state has 2,592 active COVID-19 cases, while 3,25,103 patients have recovered from the highly infectious disease.
