Odisha Records 17 COVID-19 Deaths In A Day; 668 Fresh Cases Push Infection Tally To 3,14,629

Bhubaneswar: Odisha recorded 668 fresh COVID-19 cases in a day taking the infection tally on Monday to 3,14,629, while 17 more fatalities during the same period pushed the death toll to 1,657, the government data said.

Of the total fresh cases detected from 28 districts, 385 have been reported from different quarantine centres while remaining 283 are local contact cases. Contact tracing and follow-up action is underway, said Information and Public Relation (I & PR ) Department today.

Nuapada recorded highest 68 fresh cases followed by Khordha (56) and Sundargarh (55).

Currently, the number of total active cases in the state stands at 7,106. Besides, 3,05,813 persons have so far recovered from the disease so far.

On Monday, 17 fatalities were recorded which took the death toll to 1,657.

The fresh deaths were reported from 7 districts. The COVID-19 claimed 4 lives in Khordha district, 4 in Sundargarh district, and 3 in Sambalpur district. Similarly, 2 each died in Bargarh and Jharsuguda districts while 1 each in Balangir and Kendrapara districts.

7.A 55-year-old female of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Hypertension.

8.A 56-year-old male of Jharsuguda district who was also suffering from Hypertension.

9.A 73-year-old male of Jharsuguda district who was also suffering from Hypertension.

10.A 70-year-old male of Kendrapara district who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus.

11.A 52-year-old male of Sambalpur district who was also suffering from Hypertension.

12.A 72-year-old male of Sambalpur district who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus.

13.A 56-year-old male of Sambalpur district who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus.
