Bhubaneswar: Odisha received 1140.9mm rain between June 1 and Sep 20, 5% above the normal 1091.1mm, pushing up agricultural activities and filling up reservoirs.
This was informed by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The state received maximum rainfall in the month of August, causing flooding.
While Kandhamal received maximum 1649mm rain, 51 % more than the normal; Bhadrak received 836.1mm, 18 % less than normal. Meanwhile, 5 districts recorded rain more than normal.
According to a latest weather forecast, Odisha is likely to get less low pressure-induced rain in next 24 hours, while western & interior Odisha will witness heavy downpour.
