Odisha rains: Waterlogging on tracks affects railway service


Sambalpur: Train services were affected in view of the flood-like situation and washing away of mud and ballasts from railway tracks.

According to reports, floodwater has inundated railway tracks in various areas.

Train services have been suspended on Deogaon Road – Bargarh in Sambalpur-Titilagarh section as waterlogging and washing away of tracks were reported from various areas.

As per latest reports, passengers of Ispat Express are facing a hard time after the train was halted near Dunguripalli as railway tracks were washed away following heavy rain.

Similarly, Sambalpur-Rayagada train has also been stopped near Barapali and Ajmer-Puri Express has been stationed Loisingha.

On the other hand, East Coast Railway has informed that the train services will resume after the flood water recedes from the tracks. The services were suspended in view of the safety of trains and passengers. All the three trains were halted temporarily, added the officials.
