Odisha Police reaches milestone of 1000 Plasma donations

Cuttack: In a noble effort by Corona Warriors of Odisha Police, the policing department today reached the milestone of 1000 plasma donations.

The sets another example of selfless and dedicated service by the Police personnel towards the people of Odisha. These plasma donations have played a stellar role in saving precious lives of COVID patients in the state and in our fight against COVID-19 pandemic.

The journey of Plasma donations by Odisha Police began on 24th July last year when two Jawans of OSAP 3rd Battalion, Koraput donated Plasma at SCB Medical College & Hospital in Cuttack.

In the meantime officers/ men of almost all Police districts/ establishments have donated Plasma on the call of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and and DGP Abhay as shown in the graph.

“We are happy to state that of the 2,166 overall plasma donations in Odisha till date, as much as 46% (1002) has been donated by these selfless members of Odisha Police. DGP Abhay has commended the Police personnel who have selflessly donated Plasma and saved the lives of other critical COVID patients. They are all being presented a commemorative memento to recognize their effort. Today, we also remember our 48 corona warriors of Odisha Police who have died in the line of duty. Odisha Police is proud of these great heroes for their noble sacrifice,” read a press note from Odisha Police State Headquarters, Cuttack.

Odisha Police thanked all these 1002 donors who have set an outstanding example of selfless service and said that this will motivate all other members of the police department to serve the people of Odisha with renewed determination and dedication in days ahead.
