Bhubaneswar: Cold wave conditions continued in Odisha as the temperature in at least ten places in the state dropped below 10 degree Celsius.
This was informed by the Regional Meteorological Centre today.
Phulbani was the coldest place with a minimum temperature of 4 degree Celsius. Frost was witnessed in Phulbani for the first time this winter.
Besides, other places like Jharsuguda (5.8), Daringbadi (6), Angul (6.6), Koraput (7), Bhawanipatna (7.8), Balangir (8.8), Boudh (9), Keonjhar (9.3), and Sonepur (9.4) also recorded a minimum temperature temperature below 10° Celsius.
Meanwhile, Cuttack recorded a minimum temperature of 11 degree Celsius, while Bhubaneswar was at 12.3 degree Celsius.
With a sudden drop in mercury levels across the State, the Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar has issued a cold wave alert for several interior and coastal districts of Odisha for three days.
ORANGE warning has been issued in the districts of Mayurbhanj, Angul, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh and Bargarh while MeT has issued a YELLOW warning for 11 districts which include Koraput, Kandhamal, Balasore, Keonjhar, Boudh, Sonepur, Kalahandi, Nuapada, Dhenkanal, Cuttack and Deogarh.
