Odisha: Panchayat executive officer, Asst engineer in Vigilance Net
Sonepur/Ganjam: Vigilance sleuths on Thursday conducted raids on the properties of a panchayat executive officer and an assistant engineer in Sonepur and Ganjam district respectively over allegations of accumulating assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
According to reports, Duryadhan Meher, panchayat executive officer, Cherupali gram panchayat under Dunguripali block of Soneepur district landed in Vigilance on DA Charges. The anti-corruption wing carried out searches at Meher’s houses in the town, his office and house of one of his relatives. An 18-member team led by Vigilance DSP Dasharathi Sethi of Sambalur division carried out the search.
On the other hand, Uddhab Padh, an assistant engineer at Rayagada Divison-2 Works Department also came under the scan of the Vigilance department.
Sleuths carried out simultaneous raids at 5 places associated with the engineer.
The exact amount of disproportionate assets will be known after the searches are over, said officials.
