Odisha Panchayat Elections: Naveen Patnaik Thanks All For Making BJD Victorious

Bhubaneswar: Biju Janata Dal (BJD) supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday expressed gratitude to the people of Odisha for making his party victorious in the three-tier Panchayat Elections in the state by showering love and blessings.

The Odisha CM took to Twitter and stated that this victory has further strengthened the BJD’s commitment to public service. Further, Patnaik congratulated the winning candidates and all the party workers for turning the BJD into a movement through dedicated work.

The ruling BJD on Tuesday registered a landslide victory in the elections to the three-tier Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) in Odisha. As per the State Election Commission (SEC), out of the total 851 Zilla Parishad zones, BJD claimed victory in 765 seats. While, the BJP claimed 42 seats, Congress managed to bag 37 seats. Three Independent candidates turned victorious and four other candidates have also claimed success in the Panchayat polls.
