Odisha MLAs Undergo COVID-19 Test Before Budget Session

Bhubaneswar: As a part of the precautionary measure for COVID-19, all MLAs of Odisha got tested for coronavirus before the commencement of the Budget Session of the Legislative Assembly, which is scheduled to begin from February 18.

As per the decision of the Health Department, all the members of the Odisha Legislative Assembly along with their PSOs and drivers underwent RT-PCR test from 08.30 AM to 01.30 PM and 3.00 PM to 5.00 PM on 15.02.2021. The same timing will also be followed on 16.02.2021.

Meanwhile, the MLAs of Odisha will undergo RT-PCR test from 08.30 AM to 01.30 PM on 17.02.2021 on the Assembly premises by a team of doctors.

All of them will once again undergo the RT-PCR test after the conclusion of the session.

A temporary camp will be set up in the assembly premises for conducting COVID-19 tests of all MLAs, their personal security officers, drivers, assembly staff, ministerial employees as well as journalists, as per a letter by the Health Department.

The decision was taken as a precautionary measure to check the spread of the virus.
