Odisha lockdown: Naveen announces financial aid for street vendors


Bhubaneswar: To support the economically weaker sections people of Odisha, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today announced Rs 3000 financial aid for street vendors of 114 urban areas.

The Chief Minister further said the move will help 65,000 registered street vendors in the State.

This apart, free cooked food will be provided to the poor in every panchayat every day during the shutdown period. With the help of self help groups (SHGs) cooked food will be given to 100-200 poor people in every panchayat daily during the lockdown period, he informed.

Besides, the Chief Minister also appealed people to stay inside house and fight the deadly virus COVID-19.

Earlier on Friday, the Odisha CM had announced ration for three months, allowances for four months and other financial assistances to the food security act beneficiaries to the weaker sections of the society.
