Odisha: Health Workers Denying Jab Not To Get Free COVID Vaccine

Bhubaneswar: Health and Family Welfare Director and Vaccine In-charge Bijay Panigrahi has informed that Healthcare workers in Odisha refusing to take COVID-19 vaccine during the ongoing immunization drive will not be allowed for free vaccination later.

However, those who remain absent will be vaccinated free of cost in the next phase of the drive.

Reportedly, 31,902 healthcare workers were expected to be vaccinated on the second day of the drive yesterday, while total 32,526 beneficiaries were given the first dose of the vaccine.

The vaccination was conducted t 375 sessions sites across the state yesterday.

Odisha had earlier received 4.28 lakh doses of Covishield and Covaxin vaccines. Mohapatra said, 3,34,500 more doses of Covishield vaccine are scheduled to arrive in the State on Tuesday. The State government has planned to complete the vaccination of 3.38 lakh HCWs by January 25.
