Bhubaneswar: A team of health officials will soon visit Bihar to investigate into the sale and supply of BP medicine-Telma-40 and Telma AM- in Cuttack.
Odisha health department has formed a two-member team comprising Tushar Ranjan Panigrahi, Asst.Drugs Controller and Dharmadev Puhan, Asst.Drugs Controller and asked it to visit Bihar to get details of the Pharmaceutical company which is involved in the manufacturing of the spurious life saving drugs.
The Odisha government, which had asked the Bihar Health department to provide details regarding the fake medicine, is yet to receive any reply. The government appealed to the neighbouring state to extend all cooperations to speed up the investigation process.
BP medicine- Telma 40 Tablet, Batch No. 1811055, DIM- Mar-22, D/E- Feb/25, under Mfg Licence No.- MNB/05/182 a by Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd., At- Village- Kishanapura, Baddi, Dist- SoIan (HP) have been found to be spurious.
Similarly, Telma AM tablet, Batch No. 18220083, Mfg Dt. Feb, 2022, Exp Dt. January, 2025, claimed to be Mfg by – MIs Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Samlik Marchak, Industrial Growth centre, East Sikkim-737135 was also found to be fake.
Notably, a PIL has filed in the Orissa High Court seeking CBI investigation into the fake medicine trade.
