Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has made arrangements to send 36 migrants to Mizoram and Manipur by bus who were stranded due to lockdown. Labour Commissioner Dr. N Tirumalla Nayak oversaw the safe journey to their states by bus on Saturday.
The Labour Commissioner had taken the responsibility of identifying the migrants of Mizoram and Manipur under the direction of Development Commissioner Suresh Chandra Mohapatra and Principal Secretary Anu Garg.
Khurda Collector Sitanshu Kumar Rout had extended his full cooperation to the officials in this connection.
Joint Secretary Ashok Kumar Panda and other senior officials had initiated steps for the safe journey of the migrants.
The migrants have lauded the efforts of the Odisha government for making necessary arrangements to send them to their states.
