Odisha govt makes online submission of property list mandatory

Bhubaneswar: Odisha government has issued orders for compulsory submission of annual property list by government employees and peoples’ representatives in the public domain.

According to the notification by General Administration and Public Grievances Department, the employees have to submit their annual property return by January 1 every year.

For Group D employees, the officer in charge of the establishment will upload the property statement on obtaining the same from those who are unable to upload the information online.

The notification further said that the officers will have to declare their assets within three months of their marriage.

The state government employees are at present are required to obtain prior permission for purchasing movable assets whose value is more than two month’s basic salary. The notification said this provision has been done away with as the employees now will have to inform the higher authority about any such transaction.

The notification said the employees need not submit their property list in a sealed cover as they are now allowed to upload their property list online.
