Bhubaneswar: The day time temperatures have started rising considerably in many parts of the State following this the government has initiated steps to avoid the ill effects of heat wave conditions.
A day after a detailed advisory by the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC), Deputy SRC PR Mohapatra on Thursday said special measures have been undertaken to tackle the heat wave situation in the State.
While an all out awareness drive will be launched to educate people so that they don’t expose themselves to heat and sun for longer period, a massive preparedness is in place for effective handling of the heat wave situation, said Mohapatra.
Advance planning has been made to address the water scarcity problem in the identified pockets, he added.
“Our main focus will be on school children. Their parents should also ensure that their wards don’t venture out without water bottles. A notification will soon be issued for conducting classes in the morning hours and other special arrangements which will be implemented soon,” said Mohapatra.
