Odisha govt increases session sites for COVID-19 vaccination tomorrow
Bhubaneswar: Odisha Government has increased the number of session sites after successful completion of the first day of COVID-19 vaccination drive on Saturday.
The number of beneficiaries to receive the vaccine at each site will also be increased.
Bijay Panigrahi, Director, Health & Family Welfare, said that while vaccination was held at 161 session sites across 30 districts on Saturday, the number of session sites will be increased on Monday.
Panighrahi said all Medical Colleges (Govt. & Private) shall conduct at least 5 sessions per day in different locations and 200 beneficiaries shall be targeted in each session site.
Two Vaccinators and four Vaccination officers shall be deployed at the centres on working days, he added.
District Headquarters Hospitals and Sub-Divisional Hospitals shall conduct one-two sessions per day based on the beneficiary load of the institution. The target shall be 100 per day for each session.
Likewise, Community Health Centres (CHCs)/ Urban CHCs shall conduct one session per day and the target for session is 100. The sessions will be conducted on Monday, Thursday and Saturday.
Panigrahi said the Session Microplan shall be prepared based on the availability of vaccines. Session planning should be done in such a way so that the first phase of vaccination can be completed by January 25.
On the first day, as many as 13,980 persons received coronavirus vaccines in Odisha. Reports said 100 percent achievement was recorded in six districts.
