Odisha Govt Constitutes ‘Manoj Das International Literary Award’

Bhubaneswar: Odisha government has announced to constitute Manoj Das International Literary Award in memory of late poet & writer Padma Shri Manoj Das.

This literary award will be conferred every year and will carry a cash award of Rs 10 lakh. Besides this, Manoj Kishore Sahitya Pratibha will be given to the budding talents in high school level in English and Odia every year. The awards will carry cash worth Rs 1 lakh each.

The Odisha CM said: “At the request of the family members of Manoj Das, his ancestral home at Sankhari in Balasore district will be converted into as ‘Manmmath-Manoj Memorial’. The memorial will house a library to accommodate books of historian Manmmath Das and writer Manoj Das.

A special edition of Konark magazine will be devoted to the memory of the ace writer. The magazine will carry articles published in Utkal Prasanga, Odisha Review, and Odisha Sahitya Akademi.

Worthwhile to note that Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had discussed with the family members of the writer of international repute, Manoj Das, after his sad demise.
