Odisha Govt comes up with preliminary report on Cyclone FANI damage


Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government today came up a preliminary report on the damage caused by Cyclone FANI mentioning that the state has incurred a loss of Rs 11,942 crore.

According to reports, the preliminary report on Cyclone FANI has been prepared based on the initial damage assessment report provided the Collectors/DMs of the cyclone-affected districts. The preliminary report also clearly mentions the loss incurred by different departments.

Sources informed that the Odisha Government is slated to submit the preliminary report to the Central team in a meeting at the State Secretariat today. Later, the State government will send a memorandum to the Centre after coming up with a final report.

It is may be mentioned here that the inter-ministerial team, led by Additional Secretary of Ministry of Home Affairs, Vivek Bharadwaj, is on a three-day Odisha visit to assess the damage in Fani-hit areas.
