Bhubaneswar: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Crime Branch released an advisory warning about the illegal money circulation schemes.
In the advisory, populace have been warned about the fraud schemes of Vihaan Direct Selling (India) Private Limited, a franchisee of Hong Kong-based Q-Net Group of companies. Reportedly, the company lure people on the pretext of schemes that provide maximum benefit.
However, after registration with a high payment, an individual is likely to lose the money, stated the advisory.
The advisory read, “In their scheme, one has to enrol himself as a member by investing huge amount and thereafter to arrange new members to get lucrative commission/incentives for enrolling such members. Such chain of the members always breakdown at some stage where financial benefit is accrued to only few who joined at the initial stage but result in huge loss to the remaining members/investors. The company also allures the investors through promotional trips abroad in the name of Conferences, Meetings etc. and by conducting meetings, conferences in star Hotels, CCDs etc.”
It also mentions that running of illegal money circulation schemes is punishable under Prize Chits and Money Circulation Scheme (Banning) Act, 1978.
The move came after a complaint was registered against Mis Vihaan Direct Selling (India) Private Limited.
While a case has been registered at Economic Offences Wing in Bhubaneswar, an investigation has been launched.
Officials also urged other duped investors to lodge police complaints, sources said.
