Odisha Energy Minister Praises Electricity Restoration Work By Employees


Bhubaneswar: Odisha Energy Minister Captain Dibya Shankar Mishra has praised the employees of the energy department who are working relentlessly for the restoration of electricity.

In a video message, Mishra said Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has showed farsightedness in tackling the severe cyclonic storm Amphan. The minister said that nearly 27 lakh subscribers of CESU, 16 lakh of NESCO, and 2 lakh of SouthCo have been affected due to the severe cyclonic storm.

Mishra said the employees of the energy department by working 24×7 have tried to restore power supply by yesterday night. He said by Friday, nearly 80 per cent of CESU subscribers were given electricity supply.

The Energy Minister of Odisha further said that restoration work is going on a war footing in NESCO jurisdiction. He said nearly 95 per cent of work will be completed by two days.

Mishra also praised ODRAF, NDRF, and fire brigade personnel for contributing their utmost for providing relief and rescue measures.
