Odisha Eases COVID-19 Curbs; New Timings Issued

Bhubaneswar: With the COVID-19 positivity rate in Odisha dropping to 6 percent, Chief Secretary Suresh Mohapatra today announced the easing of coronavirus-induced restrictions starting from June 17 to July 1st.

While shops in 17 districts to remain open from 6 am to 5 pm, the shops in 13 remaining districts to remain open from 6 am to 1 pm. However, bars, clubs, parlours, gyms will continue to remain closed to curb the spread of the disease.

Besides, all educational institutions including schools and colleges will also continue to remain closed as a precautionary measure.

Meanwhile, the government said night curfew will remain in force every day, while a weekend shutdown will also be enforced (every Saturday and Sunday) till further orders.

It also said that all essential activities, including those covered under existing ‘exemptions’, will continue to be allowed as before without any restrictions.
