Odisha DGP reviews crime control provision during festive season in twin cities
Bhubaneswar: Odisha DGP Abhay on Saturday reviewed the law and order situation in view of the festive season in twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar. He chaired a high-level meeting with top officials in this connection.
DGP Abhay stressed on strict execution of law and order in the two cities, particularly during Durga Puja. He directed the officials to take stern action against those demanding ‘chanda’ or donation.
The Odisha DGP also directed the police officers to focus on crowd management at puja mandaps and urged them to take disciplinary action against violation of COVID norms.
The review meeting was attended by Police Commissioner Sudhanshu Sarangi, Additional DG (Crime), Director of Intelligence, Additional DG (Law and Order) and IG (Law and Order). The DCPs of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar also attended the high-level meeting on crime prevention.
