Cuttack: As much-awaited Dussehra celebration is set to begin from Sunday, police have tightened the security with deployment of additional forces across the State to ensure peaceful celebration.
As many as 230 platoons of police force in addition to district police personnel would be deployed to maintain Law and Order, traffic regulation and crowd control across the Stateduring the week-long celebrations, a release issued by the police headquarters stated.
In particular additional security forces have been deployed in Cuttack (50 platoons), Bhubaneswar (40 platoons), Balasore (19 platoons), Bhadrak (13 platoons), Rourkela (11 platoons) & Sambalpur (08 platoons) to assist District Police in maintaining Law and Order during the festive season.
ADGP (Law and Order) Shri R.K. Sharma said, adequate security arrangements are being made in sensitive areas to ensure hassle free celebration of Durga Puja, Dussehra, Ravan Podi Utsav and Idol immersion in the state and SsP/DCsP have been instructed to maintain sharp vigil on communal fanatics, anti-socials, criminals, mischief mongers, etc for smooth culmination of the festival.
Puja organizers have been asked by the concerned SsP/ DCsP to install CCTV cameras in the pandals from safety and security point of view.
