Odisha Cop Placed Under Suspension For Dereliction Of Duty In SBI Gold Loot Case

Koraput: The inspector-in-charge of Narayanpatna police station in Koraput district has been placed under suspension in connection with a case pertaining to loot of mortgaged gold ornaments from the locker of State Bank of India’s Laxmipur branch.

The IIC, Ranjit Sahu, has been suspended with immediate effect by the Director General of Police (DGP) of Odisha, Sunil Kumar Bansal for dereliction of duty.

Reportedly, Sahu had knowledge of two accused linked to the gold ornament loot case that occurred in November last year, but he chose not to take any action against them.

Besides, a home guard of the police station, Gopal Reddy also faced action in connection with the case.
