Bhubaneswar: Hearing of public grievances is a major responsibility of the government. Right from the Chief Minister to the District Collector and BDO, common people register their grievances before the government every week on Monday. However, for the last few years, this process remained discontinued.
First, the Chief Minister’s grievance hearing was discontinued and then secretaries also stopped the grievance hearings in the Lok Seva Bhawan. Later, the District Collectors and SPs followed, leaving no way for the public to submit their complaints. The Chief Minister’s Grievance Cell which was discontinued in 2008, has been revived by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. He will now attend to public grievances at the designated cell at Unit-V every Monday starting July 1. Similarly, complaints will be heard in all other departments of the state government from July 1.
According to the CMO, the Chief Minister will hear the complaints directly from the people from tomorrow at 11 am and take necessary action.
Registrations for public grievances will be held in the Chief Minister’s Grievance Cell at Unit-V from 1st July 2024 every Monday from 9 am to 12 pm at Unit-V in Bhubaneswar.
Arrangements have been made by the General Administration and Public Grievances Department for registrations at the venue.
