Kisan Diwas is the annual celebration of Indian farmers and is observed on December 23 across the country.
This observance falls on the birth anniversary of India’s fifth Prime Minister, Choudhary Charan Singh. This date was chosen for this important celebration as Choudhary Charan Singh was one of the pioneers to focus on Indian villages as a whole, and paved the way for revolutionary land reform laws.
