Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday sanctioned Rs 20 crore to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) to fight against COVID management in its area.
As the capital city witnessing a huge surge in coronavirus cases during the second wave, Odisha CM sanctioned the amount from the chief minister’s relief fund (CMRF) to strengthen the fight against Covid.
Earlier, BMC had received Rs 77 crore for the same.
Odisha reported 6,019 new positive cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.
Among the new cases, 3,397 are in quarantine and 2,622 are local contacts. With this, the total number of positive cases in Odisha now stands at 8,31,129.
