Addressing the youths and students at the Biju Chhatra Janata Dal (BCJD) Executive Body meeting at State BJD Party Office here on Wednesday, Patnaik said the students must fight against misinformation.

“Misinformation is the greatest enemy to social harmony,” he added.

The Chief Minister advised the youth to emphasize on three important matters. First, you should do hard work for complete utilization of your inherent potential. You are sarathis (pilots) of our new and emerging Odisha, Patnaik said and urged them to create one’s special identity.

Never ever forget your duty to the society, the CM said and added that we must remain grateful to the society we belong.

Reminding the students of the unique identity and Odia pride, the CM said Odia community is great and it had in the past conquered the land between Ganga and Godavari.

Legendary emperors like Kharavel and Kapilendra Dev had rule Odisha. Lord Jagannath had Himself taken part in Purushottamdev’s Kanchi Abhijan, Patnaik added.

The valour of our Paika heroes will always be remembered. Utkalmani Gopabandhu, Utkal Gourav Madhu Babu, Buxi Jagabandhu and Veer Surendra Sai are our great icons, he added.

Fakir Mohan’s literature has enhanced the glory of Odia language. The sacrifice and struggle of Maa Rama Devi, Malati Choudhry and Parbati Giri have glorified the image of Odia women, the Chief Minister added.

He said Santha Kabi Bhima Bhoi’s immortal verses have universal appeal and  have always inspired one and all throughout the world.

Martyr Baji Rout’s courage and patriotism is unparalleled. Likewise, Biju Babu’s contributions to Odisha will never be forgotten.
